Catch a wave at Ballina’s North Wall, then come join us for breakfast.

The Lighthouse Beach Cafe is a top spot to watch the surf, or see the whales migration whilst enjoy a delicious meal.

The café was established in December 2013 by Peter and Karen Sinclair. Karen is a local girl her family has been established in Ballina since the 1940’s. The May family had the local Nissan dealership established in 1945 by Karen’s grandfather and carried on by her father David May.

Peter arrived in the area 13 years ago when he met and married Karen! He comes from Sydney and has worked in the hospitality industry since he completed school many, many years ago!

The staff of Lighthouse Beach Cafe are friendly and knowledgable. They are Barista trained and know how to pour a coffee. (or a beer if you prefer)

Head Chef Scott Bennett is also a local boy, he has worked in the industry since completing school at Ballina High in 1989.

He has studied and worked in many restaurants over the years overseas and around Australia. He came home to settle with his family and raise them in the town that he loves!

Ballina provides some of the most spectacular whale watching on the east coast of Australia. You can sit and dine, while watching them swim by.

We welcome celebration cakes, but please note there is a $10 fee.

For Bookings 20 plus there is a deposit of $20/person required on placement of booking.

We try to use local produce and suppliers when possible. We have been associated with Botero for 10 years. There is no other coffee we’d ever have!

The café is fully licensed. So, you can enjoy a cocktail, lovely cold beer or a glass of wine while taking in the view!
